WARNING. INK BLACK HEART SPOILERS
I just finished my first re-read of IBH. As far as villains go, reading scenes that had Gus in it (before we found he was Anomie) was far more exciting than the scenes in the previous books where one of the detectives was observing the killer.
Obviously there were a lot of characters with multiple identities in this book and it made some of the plot lines complicated to follow.
I have 2 questions about things Gus did that I can’t make sense of.
- Why did he push Morehouse to meet Paperwhite at Comic Con? I know he was confident he’d never want to FaceTime but it seemed like he might actually show up to CC. That seemed kind of a big gamble with little to gain.
- Why did Gus tell Strike & Robin that Inigo talks to Rachel online? Seemed like he had little to gain other than having the detectives snoop around his family more.
