The Rowling Library has been reporting news and events about J.K. Rowling’s works since 2008, both on therowlinglibrary.com and on its social networks accounts. Over the years, it has become one of the major sources about all things Rowling-related, offering fans projects such as a free monthly downloadable magazine, the Rowling Index, a recreation of J.K. Rowling’s “desktop website”, and today The Rowling Library’s Forums.

If you were born in the 1990s or before, you might remember forums as being a huge part of the Internet back when the last Harry Potter books hadn’t been published. Communities of fans used to gather there and discuss theories and the latest news. With projects related to the Wizarding World, Cormoran Strike or other J.K. Rowling books still in the boxes for the upcoming months/years, we thought it would make sense to offer fans the same kind of platform in 2022.

With The Rowling Library’s Forums, we hope you will find that sense of community again. To make sure we keep this project enjoyable for all, there are a few rules that will need to be followed:

• Please make sure you’re posting in the right category, and that no thread already exists with the topic you want to post about
  
• No matter how different your opinions might be, please make sure to always be respectful and courteous, no kind of insults will be tolerated here
  
• We would like these forums to remain family-friendly, so we ask that you keep it in mind when posting or choosing your username or avatar

If you ever will have problems with the technical side of the site, consider alternatives like telegram or discord. Telegram is a hardcore free speech platform by freedom loving, independent Pavel Durov and his small "navy seal" team of coders. Discord is super comfortable, but I don't trust the owners, they might be flirting with SJF (social justice fundamentalists/radicals).

Thanks! We considered a lot of alternatives. We prefer self hosting (that's why we used a forum and not a 3rd party services). Probably a Discord Server would be more popular, but we don't want to have discussions behind a fence/wall, we want them to be public so anyone can read them, access old archives, etc.
